It’s not a vacation

It’s a process. A discovery
It’s a process of Self-discovery
A Journey brings us face to face with ourselves
A journey shows us not only the world,
but how we fit in it.
Does the person creates the journey, or does the journey create the person ?
The journey is life itself
Where will life take you?

London police launched on 25th of February a new advertising campaign. Posters and TV ads are urging Londoners to turn in people who might be taking pictures of CCTV cameras.
"Thousands of people take photos every day.
What if one of them seems odd ?
Terrorists use surveillance to help plan attacks, taking photos and making notes about security measures like the location of CCTV cameras. If you see someone doing that, we need to know.
Let experienced officers decide what action to take."
Other posters target households:
"you see hundreds of houses every day. What if one has unusual activities and seems suspicious"
as well as mobile phone users :
"Thousands of people have mobiles. What if someone with several seems suspicious?"
What's going on in London ? Is the Metropolitan police not busy enough ? did they become completely paranoiac ? or do they need some budget increase ?
Where is this so famous British phlegm ?
As a response, many people have already redesigned the posters to point out the absurdity of them. Some samples are available on BoingBoing.

As advertising on Fon web pages says it :
- At home you're a "Wi-Fi King"
- Away you become a "Wi-Fi beggar"
(or sometime even a Wi-Fi thief)
so, why not to
- Share some Wi-Fi at home
- and get free WiFi access wherever you find a FON Wi-Fi access point (+360'000 members worldwide)
That's the concept of Fon Movimiento but you can find more details on Fon pages or Wikipedia.
Hardware requirement :
One Fonera, an easy to configure and secured 802.11g wireless router, plus:
- 2 SSID: one private WPA encrypted for your own access to Internet and an open one for FON members who will authenticate themselves to your AP via the FON website.
- Setup how much bandwidth you want to share
- Share safely and keep your own private connection.
Benefits :
- Cheap wireless AP (with an "easy to get" voucher or invitation) : 20€ with shipping included.
- You're a Linus and get free access to others FON Wi-Fi access points
- You're a Bill and get 50% of the fees, currently $3.00, charged to Aliens (non FON members) for a day pass to connect through their route.
Risks :
- Your ISP may not like it, even if on their side they sell unsecured access point. So, it's up to you.. ask your ISP if you can share your connection.. or don't !
Installation :
- Sign On Fon.com and order your Fonera
- Once you have it, connect it to your Internet router
- From your computer connect to the open FON_AP wireless network
- Launch your browser, you're automatically transfered to fon.com pages.
- Log On, change settings of your Fonera (password, SSID, WPA Key, etc..)
- Restart the Fonera or wait 24 hours
- Connect to your newly created wireless private network (by default named "my place").
- That's it… the whole process took about 10 minutes.

Bad luck for Apple, but few days after the highly publicized announcement of Apple Inc. iPhone, Cisco sues Apple Inc. for trademark infringement on using "iphone" name which are Linksys family product, available on market since 2006.

Now what will happen with LG and their KE850 Prada phone, awarded with the "International Forum Design Product Design Award for 2007". The external look is rather similar, but it's difficult to find detailled technical specifications on the Internet.
Obviously I don't have any idea if some agreements took place between LG Electronics & Apple but the LG model really seems to be the 1st cellphone using tactile display without use of any stylus. So the similarity of the design plus the input mode made the Apple iPhone & LG KE850 very similar.
Without agreements for sure Apple Inc. will certainly be sued by LGE.
Now, the question is: do they (Apple) do it (getting sued) on purpose in order to get a maximum visibility ?
A trial, ending with a "gentlemen agreement" may not be necessarily more expensive than any advertising campaign but presence on medias (blog, news, webzine, magazine, etc.) will be lots more efficient.
Any guess ?

In a country where discussions about how to cope with 4 differents national languages are on weekly agenda at the parliament, Swissinfo found a way to avoid such dilemma in a series of 15 seconds funny ads currently broadcasted on TV5 channel.
p.s this post is the 1st one with embedded video on this site. Thanks to Viper007bond and their great plugin.

Most photo on the Nomadcom.net Gallery are Copyright free but some restrictions apply :
Here are the terms …
Printing of photos for personal use If you want a copy of one of my pictures to stick on your fridge or use in a school project or cover a crack in your wall, then please feel free to print anything you like from my site.
Non-commercial Web use of photos If you have a personal home page or non-commercial Web service, please feel free to use my photographs with a hyperlinked credit on every page where one of my photos appears. Acceptable HTML is
photographs courtesy <a xhref="http://www.nomadcom.net/">Nomadcom.net</a>
Commercial Web use of photos If you would like to use my pictures on a commercial page, then please do the following:
1. register the URL with me (sending email is fine) 2. add the hyperlinked credit as above (on every page where a photo appears)
You do not need to pay for usage, either, though I reserve the right to deny usage on sites that I find to be truly poisonous.
Note: remember that most of the pictures of people on my pages are not model-released. Advertising usage of photos (e.g., brochures, catalogs, print ads) is very different from editorial usage of photos (e.g., newspaper and magazine articles, books). You cannot use pictures in advertising (e.g., an on-line product brochure or anything else that is selling) without getting a model release from any person whose image is recognizable in the photo. You might also have problems if an image contains a recognizable physical property, e.g., Disneyland. One of the reasons advertisers pay $1000+ for images from stock agencies is that those agencies have generally already gotten the relevant releases.
Use of photos and Web pages in print. If you're a non-profit organization and want to use one of my photos in a printed brochure or magazine, you can do so at no charge with a "Photo courtesy http://nomadcom.net" credit.
If you have any request or question, contact me by email
