hasselbladapollo11small.jpg At 2:56 UTC on July 21st 1969, six hours after landing (with less than 30 seconds of fuel remaining), Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong made his descent to the Moon's surface and spoke his famous line "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind" (audio link) . He was shortly joined by “Buzz” Aldrin saying, "Beautiful. Beautiful. Magnificent desolation". Neil A. Armstrong took the “Small Step” into our greater future when he stepped off the Lunar Module, named “Eagle,” onto the surface of the Moon, from which he could look up and see Earth in the heavens as no one had done before him.

The two astronauts spent 21 hours on the lunar surface and returned 46 pounds of lunar rocks. After their historic walks on the Moon, they successfully docked with the Command Module “Columbia,” in which Michael Collins was patiently orbiting the cold but no longer lifeless Moon"

kopete.pngI found an interesting review made by ExtremeTech about some of currently available multi-services Instant Messenger (IM) clients supporting at least all 3 majors IM services (MSN, Yahoo, ICQ). While the option for Mac users is limited to Adium, it exists few Web 2.0 based solutions such meebo and eBuddy and a bunch of classic software for Windows-based computer. Etremetech's prefered choice is the long existing Trillian Pro version (25 USD) but they also speak about PC-World prefered SightSpeed (also for MacOS) and the Swiss Army knife-like Raketu (I plan to test both of them in the coming days).

The list will grow up again with soon release of Orgoo, which aims to integrate email, IM, chat, SMS, and video messaging into one interface.

To sum up the six services in this review roundup, here's a table comparing their features:

A global Flickr community event is coming.

What happens around the world in one day? In a word: life.

On Flickr, members are sharing the world that they see: snapping daily moments, recording history, telling stories, capturing beauty. To celebrate this global community, Flickr invites us to join 24 Hours of Flickr, a day-long global photo project. On May 5 2007, grab your camera and whatever else you need, and chronicle your day in pictures.

Join the 24 hours of Flickr group and post your best photo exclusively taken on the 5th of May 2007 to the group.

The event will be commemorated by a companion 24 hours of Flickr book, which will contain a selection of photographs chosen from the group. Additionally, the group's photos will be featured at Flickr events around the world this summer.
