iphone_optimized.pngContentRobot has released earlier last week a Wordpress plugin (requires WP 2.2.1) that would allow iPhone visitors to optimally view WordPress blogs. The iWPhone plugin comes with its own theme which will automatically reformats blog’s content for optimized viewing on Apple’s iPhone.

Feature List

  • Formats your blog content for optimized viewing on the iPhone.
  • Automatically detects the iPhone’s Safari browser and only displays the custom theme to iPhone visitors, other visitors get your standard theme.
  • Simple iPhone-like theme with common interface elements that compliments the iPhone’s internal applications.
  • Images larger then 300 pixels wide are automatically scaled down to fit the iPhone optimized width.

If you don't own an iPhone, you can review the reformated site using a small application called iPhoney but so far you need to have Mac OS X 10.4.7 (or later) and Safari installed on it as Windows version of iPhoney is not available yet.

Note: As I don't have a MAC nor an iPhone, feedback from iPhone owners about presentation my site would be highly appreciated

kopete.pngI found an interesting review made by ExtremeTech about some of currently available multi-services Instant Messenger (IM) clients supporting at least all 3 majors IM services (MSN, Yahoo, ICQ). While the option for Mac users is limited to Adium, it exists few Web 2.0 based solutions such meebo and eBuddy and a bunch of classic software for Windows-based computer. Etremetech's prefered choice is the long existing Trillian Pro version (25 USD) but they also speak about PC-World prefered SightSpeed (also for MacOS) and the Swiss Army knife-like Raketu (I plan to test both of them in the coming days).

The list will grow up again with soon release of Orgoo, which aims to integrate email, IM, chat, SMS, and video messaging into one interface.

To sum up the six services in this review roundup, here's a table comparing their features:

Et voilà ! few hours before the Songkran Festival my website got a brand new design based on WordPress publishing tool & Travelogue template. It is still not perfect and fully under control as it gets some time to feel familiar with PHP language but I still have hope.

Tricks & tips are of course most welcome
